Melvin Ray Dalton, 68 of Laurel Fork, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2009 at his home. Mr. Dalton was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Rush & Trudie Quesenberry Dalton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Claudine Mayes, a brother, Carl Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Jane B. Dalton, of the home, daughters, Erica Forbess, Spring Lake, NC, Dina Dalton, Hillsville, sisters, Kathleen Miller, Milford, CT, Georgia Kimble, Meadows of Dan, brothers, Robert Dalton, Meadows of Dan, Thomas Dalton, Meadows of Dan, Donald Dalton, Laurel Fork, Odell Dalton, Meadows of Dan, grandchildren Jacob Forbess, Jordan Forbess, Ethan Woods.

Graveside services and burial will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Worrell Family Cemetery, Laurel Fork, VA., with Elder Gleason Worrell officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady is serving the family.
