Melissa Dawn Semones, 48 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Semones was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina on October 17, 1973. She was preceded in death by a son, Colt Semones and a daughter, Shelbi Semones. Melissa was a loving wife, mother, Mimi and special sister.

Survivors include her husband, Shannon Semones; two daughters, Makayla Wilson-Tuck and husband, Isaiah and Maci Grace Semones; parents, Buster and Betty Parnell; grandchild Westin Daniel Tuck; sister, Debbie Johnson and husband, Frankie; nephews, Billy Johnson and wife, Jennifer, Chase Johnson, and Chandler Johnson; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Blue Ridge Fellowship from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM. A graveside service with burial will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Parnell Cemetery. Rev. Billy Johnson will be officiating. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
