Melissa Ann Burnette Nester, 43 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home. Ms. Nester was born in Mt. Airy, NC to Clarence and Joyce Webb Burnette of Fancy Gap. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Ken Simpkins of Hillsville; granddaughter, Annaleigh Simpkins; brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Mary Burnette of Fancy Gap; nephew, Tyler Burnette; aunts and uncles, Ronald and Brenda Webb of Fancy Gap, James and Ellen Hiatt of Mt. Airy, NC, and Lorene Newcity of Hillsville; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bobby Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
