Maynard R. Horton (Horton), 71, of Fallston, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home. Mr. Horton was born in Dugspur, Virginia to the late Raymond and Gertie Goad Horton. Survivors include his wife, Jerry Lou Horton, of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Whitney Horton of Kings Mt., NC and Brian Shelton of Bessemer City, NC; daughter, Crystal Cline of Hillsville; grandchildren, Morgan Horton, Ashley Spangler, Haley Cline, Matthew Shelton, and Allen Shelton; and great grandson, Brantley Spangler. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Cas Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
