Maybellene Goad Smythers, 65, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nelles Heath and Vivian Thompson Goad; brother Wayne Goad. She is survived by her husband, Clinton Smythers of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Melissa Dalton of Sugar Grove, and Kendall and Verona Dalton of Barren Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Richard Isom of Galax; step-daughter and spouse, Bobbie and Richard Watson of Cleveland, GA; step-son and spouse, Wesley and Naomi Smythers of Hillsville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Harlen and Corrine Goad of Roanoke, and Leonard Goad of Floyd; two sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Quesenberry of Floyd, and Linda and Frank Stanley of Abbs Valley, VA; fifteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Cliffview Church of God with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 2:00 PM until time of the funeral service. The family says flowers will be appreciated however donations may be made to the Gideon's.Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
