Obituary

Maxie Lawson Vaughn of Navarre, Ohio, formerly of Carroll County, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 27, 2016.

She was born in Carroll County, January 31, 1938, to Troy and Elva Bryant Lawson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Horton and a son, Freddie Horton. Also, two brothers, Leamon Lawson and Sterlin Lawson; three sisters, Thelma Harmon, Pansy Griffin and Vila Edwards.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Emory (Bob) Vaughn of Navarre, Ohio; a daughter, Martha Vaughn of Massillon, Ohio; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Zula Coleman of Hillsville and Ina and Lester Horton of Fancy Gap. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral will be Thursday, June 30 at 11 a. m. at Coulson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Jimmie Young officiating. Viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Coulson Church. Burial will follow in the Coulson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coulson Cemetery Fund, c/o Cheryl Quesenberry, 149 Oak Grove Rd., Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
