Perrine
August 23, 1935 – June 19, 2021
Max William Perrine, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home. Mr. Perrine was born in West Virginia to the late Gladys Perrine Furlong and Frank Sterle. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother and wife, Frank Sterle, Jr. and Maxine; and a sister, Veronica Josephine Rouche.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Perrine of the home; daughter, Cindy Pepin (Roger) and sons, Gary Johnson (Mukda), Jody Johnson, and Tod Johnson, all of New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, Janet Spyropoulos, Nicole Lang, Michael Johnson, Mary Beaudóin (Jeremy), Krystal Sousa (Izy), Travis Johnson (Emily), and Brandon Johnson and all of New Hampshire and Elene Pierce (Nick) and Billy Spyropoulos (Nikki) all of Massachusetts; several great-grandchildren; special niece, Belinda McCormick (John) of Huntington, WV; great-niece Dursha Smith (Brandon) and family; brother-in-law, Dennis Drouin of Massachusetts; sisters-in-law, Elaine Benvides (Mario) of New Hampshire and Denise Falzano (Richard) of Massachusetts; and several nieces and nephews between Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Mr. Perrine honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 – 1956. From 1956 – 1995 he was chairman of the incoming material review board and missile final assembly areas at Raytheon, a defense manufacturing corporation. Max loved fishing and outdoor activities such as camping, caring for his orchard, and vacationing with his beloved grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed having family gatherings, including his ex-wife, Janet. Max and Linda volunteered at the space museum in Titusville, Florida and also built doll houses and the furnishings for them.
A celebration of life service will be in Concord New Hampshire on July 5 and another celebration of life service will be held in late August at Sylvatus Christian Church. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
