Mavis Sowers Meredith of Fancy Gap, passed away on Saturday, May 05, 2018 at her home. She was born in Carroll County to the late Cana Nelson and Lou Emma Ann Willis Sowers. Mrs. Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Grant Meredith, son, Gilbert Wade Meredith, siblings, Iris Critz, Gene Gulledge, Willis "Bill" Sowers and Wilma Sowers.

Mrs. Meredith is survived by her children, Doris A. Meredith of Mt. Airy, Sherry Elaine Siekierka and husband, Matthew of Rocky Mt. VA, Warren Meredith and wife, Llew Ellen of Fancy Gap and Brian K. Meredith of Fancy Gap. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, B.J. Meredith, Kristen Bray, Blake Meredith and Lauren Taylor Meredith. 5 Great-Granddaughters, Allie Cheek, Meredith Bray, June Baldwin, Joleigh Baldwin and Kylie Meredith.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 2:00P.M. at Bluemont Presbyterian Church with the Chaplain with Medi Hospice, Robbie Vance, officiating. A burial will take place in the Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Bluemont Presbyterian Church from 1:00 P.M. until time of services. In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to the Bluemont Cemetery in care of Elmo McAlexander 2406 Excelsior School Road, Laurel Fork, VA 24352, or to Mountain Valley Hospice at 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, VA 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel will be serving the Meredith family.
