Obituary

Mattie Velma Hall, 90 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Heritage Hall-Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Hall was born in Carroll County to the late Oscar and Oddie Ethel Marshall McGrady. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon A. Hall; brothers, Hugh McGrady, Robert McGrady, and Granville McGrady; and sister, Helen Webb.

Mrs. Hall is survived by her sister, Golda McGrady; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, great-great nieces and nephews; three great-great-great nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Elder Melvin McGrady officiating. Burial will follow in the Allen McGrady Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
