Matthew Douglas Martin, 46, of Galax, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home. Mr. Martin was born in Radford, VA and was preceded in death by his mother, Pamela J. Galyean Martin.

Survivors include his father, L.D. Martin of Galax; sister and brother-in-law, Melodie and Michael Strickland of Rocky Mt., NC; nephews and spouse, Anthony and Jennifer Carper and William Strickland; niece, Christina Grace Strickland; and two great-nephews, Preston Jobe and Winston Carper.

A graveside service with burial will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Isaac Banks Cemetery with Pastor Jo Ann Bunn officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Tuesday from 11:30 until 12:30 prior to the service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
