Mary Louise Thorne, 88 of Hillsville passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her Son Dr. David Thorne; Parents, Ralph and Lucille Rouse Dolinger; Brother, Bill Dolinger.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. D.B. Thorne; Son and Daughter-in-law, Ralph and Kathy Thorne of Hillsville; Daughter-in-law, Delilah Thorne of Independence, Virginia; Two sisters, Margaret Sowder of Lynchburg, and Bettye Dunfee of Proctorville, Ohio; Grandchildren and spouse, Morgan Thorne, and Amy and Adam Gifford; Great-grandchildren Joel Gifford and Seth Gifford. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Amanda Hatfield Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 29, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Thorne family.
