Mary Hicks Mabry, 89 of Galax, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Hillsville Health and Rehab. Mrs. Mabry was born in Carroll County to the late Orben and Bertha Mae Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hanford Howard Mabry; son, Lonnie Mabry; sisters, Mallie Dalton, Alva Bryant, Claudia Hicks, and Zelma Utt; and brother, Marion Hicks.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dwaine and Karen Mabry of Hillsville; daughter, Bonnie Walker of Clemmons, NC; granddaughter, Jennifer Walker Hauser of Lexington, NC; great-grandson, Zachary Walker of Clayton, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lurie Warner of Salem, Eileen Phillips of Fairfax, Edna and Oma Spencer of Roanoke, Nancy and Arnold Montgomery of Salem, and Arlie and Alvin Mabry of Roanoke; brother, Harlie Hicks of Roanoke; and beloved dalmatian, Jasper.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Stephen Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
