Mary Lee Lanter Rider, 91, of Wytheville, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Carrington Place in Wytheville. Mrs. Rider was born in Virginia to the late Lemuel and Rosa Phillipi Lanter. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Rider was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Bruce Rider and brother, Ford Lanter. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Betty Lanter of Hillsville; sisters, Virginia Thomas of Wytheville and Inez James of Max Meadows; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service with Pastor David Bays officiating will be held at a later date. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
