Mary Lee Huff Grisso stepped into heaven at 92 on June 1, 2023. She lived in McDonough, GA with her daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Mark Ryan. Mary Lee Grisso was born April 10, 1931 in Hillsville, VA to Giles and Pearlie Huff, who along with her brother Elmo Huff, all preceded her in death.

Mary Lee married Robert D Grisso and was happily married for 66 years before he passed, and together they raised a family of four children who love them dearly and are committed to continue their legacy. Mary Lee graduated from Lewis-Gale Nursing School in 1950 as a registered nurse and worked in hospitals in Alabama, Virginia, and Ohio.

Mary Lee was a quiet, gentle soul who loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart. She was always an active church member and fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ in Southern Baptist churches in the cities of Radford, VA, Knoxville, TN, Florence, AL, Stillwater, OK, Roanoke, VA, Marysville, OH, Oneonta, AL, and McDonough, GA. She maintained a heart for foreign missions throughout her lifetime and personally participated in short-term mission trips to Brazil. She was an excellent gardener and avid quilter who took great delight in being hospitable to others. Her home was always filled with amazing, inviting smells as she cooked and baked for her family, friends and strangers.

She raised four children, all married: Bob and Teresa Grisso of Blacksburg, VA; Joyce and David Henson of Pfafftown, NC; Carolyn and Mark Ryan of McDonough, GA; and Lewis and Carolyn Grisso of Oneonta, AL. She had 11 grandchildren: Josh and Ben Ryan and Hannah Jenkins, Christopher Henson and Sarah Bridges, Lauren and Stephen Grisso, Jessica Franklin, Jacob, Garrett and Nicole Grisso and 9 great-grandchildren: Abbey, Lily, and Aleaha Ryan, Clark and Elise Henson, Blythe and Hudson Bridges, and James and Jovie Franklin.

Her family celebrates her life well-lived and is thankful she suffers no longer and that she now walks in perfect peace with her Heavenly Father.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow in the Semones Sunnyside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
