Mary Ruth Hampton, 84, of Galax, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Hampton was born in Virginia to the late William and Belva Lindsay Creasy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Hampton.

Survivors include her children and spouses, Larry and Becky Honeycutt of Woodlawn, Richard and Carolyn Honeycutt of Hillsville, Bobby Honeycutt of Fries, and Susan and Joe Mabe of Hillsville; sisters, Billie Carpenter of Surprise, AZ and June Cyphers of Victoria, TX; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
