Mary Dalton Horton, 87, of Galax, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Commonwealth Sr. Living in Abingdon, VA. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County to the late Ward and Ruby Goad Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Howard Horton and siblings, Claude Dalton, Willadean Graham, and Nelson Dalton.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Emma Horton of Bristol, VA; sister, Billie Taylor of Hillsville; grandchildren and spouses, Jessica Horton Han and Dennis, Mary Margaret Cole and Justin, and Lucy Erin Horton; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Dr. Lawrence Childs officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
