Mary Alda Carter Robinson, 99 of Hillsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at her home. She was born in the Laurel Community of Carroll County on June 3, 1909 to the late William Robert & Leah Lineberry Carter. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband James Luke Robinson; son James Robert Robinson, and grandson Terry Lee Tolbert. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Juanita Tolbert and Jeanne & Buford Edwards all of Hillsville, and Wyvetta Stockton of Jonesboro, TN; daughter-in-law Bernice Robinson; grandchildren & spouses Doug Tolbert, Janet Alderman, Pat & Wayne Graham, Sam & Rachael Riffey, Robert Riffey, Mike Stockton, Greg Stockton, Vicki Holsclaw, and Dennis & Mary Kate Robinson; great grandchildren & spouses David Alderman, Adam Tolbert, Lee & Kim Riffey, Nick Riffey, Samantha Riffey, Chris Lowery, Ciera & John Greer, and Dusty Stockton; great-great granddaughter Ahliyah Riffey; sisters & brother-in-law Evelyn & Harrison Frost of Woodlawn, Virginia Vaughn of Hillsville, and Esther Surratt of Anna, TX; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Coulson Church of the Brethren with Rev. Russell Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the James Robinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 12:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in memory of Mary Robinson to Coulson Church Building Fund 4127 Coulson Church Road, Hillsville, VA 24343.
