Mary Helen Brooks, 75, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Brooks was born in Carroll County to the late Stanley W. and Gracie Mae Henley Marshall. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Leon Brooks, Jr.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sherry and Ronald S. Moser, Richard Wayne Brooks, Sr. and Linda and James Durnil all of Hillsville; sister, Judy Ann Quesenberry of Hillsville; brother, Edward Marshall of Hillsville; grandchildren, R.J. Moser, Brittany Brooks, Brian Moser, Ricky Brooks and Eden Durnil; seven great-grandchildren; numerous special friends and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Larry Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery. The family will be acting as pallbearers and flower bearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
