Mary Virginia Bolen, 91 of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Trinity Mission in Hillsville. Ms. Bolen was born in Carroll County to the late John Wesley & Emily Victoria Smith Webb. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter Bonnie Fay Bolen Monday; sister Lillian Emily Webb; and brothers Richard Webb, Herman Webb, Wesley Webb and Robert Webb. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law David Wesley & Jean Bolen of Fancy Gap, Larry Thomas & Rita Bolen of Lenoir, NC and Timothy Britt & Sonya Bolen of Dugspur; sister Essie Caroline Eaton of Fancy Gap; special sister-in-law Francis Webb; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Fancy Gap United Methodist Church with Rev. Wendell Horton speaking. Ms. Bolen will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
