Marvin Bill Elmer Riggins, 86 of Hillsville passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at his home. He was born in Wythe County to the late James Wesley and Millie Ray Alley Riggins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Lillie Collen Riggins. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Jennifer and Ramn Jaime of Hillsville, Betty and Charles Hawkins of Hillsville, Shirley and James McKinney of Danville, Carol and Kenneth Akers of Barren Springs, and Hazel Riggins of Hillsville; sons and daughters-in-law Billy and Sabrina Riggins of Danville, Jerry and Deane Riggins of Danville, Marvin and Terry Riggins of Danville, and JW James and Holli Riggins of Max Meadows; daughter-in-law Edna Riggins of Danville; brother James Ellis Riggins of Galax; sisters May Phillips of Hillsville and Annie Pearl Sonders of Dublin; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and special friends Juan Miguel and Loretta Mendez.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Jerry Alley officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
