Marvin Randolph Nester, 83 of Barren Springs, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at his home.  Mr. Nester was born in Wythe County to the late Chalmer and Etta Bond Nester.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, Hassell Nester; and sister, Linda Crawford.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Frances Martin Nester; daughters, Sherry Tate (Kevin) and Tammy Haynes (Michael); grandchildren, Casey Nester (Sarah), Maegan Guynn (Dakota), Morgan Tate, and Rachael Haynes; great-grandson, Ben Nester and one on the way; and sisters, Connie Horton (JC) and Bonnie Richardson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Victory Way Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Joe Bryant officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bond Cemetery in Barren Springs.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
