Marvin R. Finney, 91 of Hillsville, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mr. Finney was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late David S. & Mary E. Martin Finney. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Horton Finney; son Charles M. Finney, granddaughter Shelia Ring, great granddaughter Jasmine Sutphin. He is survived by his children & spouses Dorothy F. & Ronnie ( Jim ) Sutphin, Willis, VA; Eula F. & Jerry Small, Ashboro, NC, Ruby F. Berrier, Hillsville, Bonnie F. & James Smith, Hillsville, Mary F. & Victor Bobbitt, Hillsville, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, several step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery; with Military Rites conducted by Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel beginning at 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
