Martha Stone Koger, 88, of Waynesboro went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2006, at Shenandoah Nursing Home.

She was born January 11, 1918, in Rockingham County North Carolina and was a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Mrs. Koger was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.Rufus Stone of Martinsville, Virginia and by her sister, Mrs. Sara Hardesty of Seaford, Deleware.

She is survived by her husband, The Reverand Frank R. Koger, Retired Minister, of Waynesboro, Virginia; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Shumate and Mrs. Constance Sachlis both of Waynesboro; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Ann Pratt of Martinsville, Virginia; four grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p. m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Hillsville, Virginia, with burial following at the Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery in Hillsville. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 at the Vaughn-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville. There will be a memorial service at the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Virginia at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, Virginia or the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Hillsville, Virginia.
