Martha Beasley Gravley, age 87, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, VA. She lived on Route 620 in Carroll County, VA for 64 years. She was a homemaker, a nurse and did private duty nursing for families at hospitals and at private homes. She was the last of 10 children in the family of the late Burton & Ettie Beasley and was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Gravley. Surviving are her children and spouses Cloyd Herman & Irma Gravley of Statesboro, GA, Bonnie & Berl Delph of Pulaski, VA; Ray & Mary Gravley of Greensboro, NC, Eva (Kathy) & and Ronnie Gunnell of Asheboro, NC, and Robin Gravley of Austinville, VA; grandchildren Karen & Terry Horton of Mt. Airy, NC, Steven & Angela Gravley of Statesboro, GA, Richard & Melissa Delph of Pulaski, VA, Ben Gunnell of Washington, DC and Derek Gravley of Wytheville, VA. Also surviving are nine great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; and special friends Nomeka Griffin and Mary Guynn.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman and Mr. Cloyd Herman Gravley officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Beasley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
