Marion Hanisch Durre, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at her home in Hillsville, Virginia, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on January 9, 1947 in Nashua, New Hampshire, the daughter of Frederick (Ted) and Priscilla (Perry) Herbert.

Survivors include her sister, Joyce Martin; brother-in-law, Douglas Martin of Huddleston, VA; brother, Bruce (Jodi) Herbert of Yuma Arizona; a favorite nephew, Loren Armstrong of Bruno, Minnesota; nieces, Tami Armstong of Farmingdale, Maine and Cara Armstrong Wynne of Hallowell, Maine; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marion was an excellent seamstress for many years.  Marion had a very special caregiver, whom she loved dearly, the wonderful and devoted, Channon Zenner.  The family would like to thank Stephanie Goad of Mountain Valley Hospice for her devoted service.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on March 29, 2025 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady is serving the family.
