Marie White, 92 of Galax, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.  Mrs. White was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Solomon Oscar and Eliza Matoka Dalton Barnes.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William (Bill) Zelmer White and sisters, Glenna (Wakeman) Goad, Lummie (Erby) Goad, Odessa (Fred) Thomas and Gladys (Caulder) Morris.

Survivors include her daughter Nancy White and husband James Wallis; granddaughter and spouse, Rebecca Wallis and Jack Dean; sister, Martha Lee (Ernest) Martin.

A graveside service with burial will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Monta Vista Memory Gardens at 11:00 AM with Debbie Ginder officiating.  Family will receive friends at Monta Vista from 10:00 AM-11:00AM. The family request that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be observed.  In lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church, Carl Goad Christmas Fund, in care of Lynn Nester, 337 Madison Road, Hillsville VA 24343.
