Marie Stanley, 80 of Meadows of Dan, passed over into glory on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Heritage Hall Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Stanley was born in Carroll County to the late Ernest Lee and Della Bolt Bowman. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother Sanford Bowman; and a great grandson Haden Brady. Marie is survived by her husband Sherman Stanley of the home; daughter & son-in-law Donna S. & Howard W. Brady, Jr. of Lanexa, VA; sons & daughter-in-law Jerry Stanley of Meadows of Dan and Jeff & Susanne Stanley of Austinville; brothers & sisters-in-law Howard & Kristy Bowman of Manassas and Larry & Joyce Bowman of Bristol, VA; sisters Helen Goad of Laurel Fork and Annette Marshall of Hillsville; sister-in-law Treva Bowman of Grove City, OH; six grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Reed Island Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lonnie Hylton officiating. Mrs. Stanley will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the Reed Island Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
