Susan Marie Jessup Martin, 92 of Max Meadows passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at her home. She was born in Meadows of Dan, Virginia on April 4, 1932.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Rush Martin; parents, Edgar and Nancy Jessup; sister, Imogene Turman; and brother, Rabon Jessup.

Survivors include her daughter, Myra Martin Farris and husband, Clint Farris: son, Roger Martin and wife, Glenda Felts Martin; grandchildren, Scott Martin, Ginny Martin, Rose Ellis, Amie McNeal and Shannon Nance; great-grandchildren, Ethan Martin, Eli Martin, Kayley Nance, Jenna McNeal, Krista Hammond; great-great-grandchild, Kaeson Hamilton; brother, Buford Jessup; and sister, Evona Jessup.

Marie Martin was an active member of the Pulaski Primitive Baptist Church.  She was a graduate of Radford University with Bachelor's and Master's degrees.  Her teaching career spanned for over 60 years, and included teaching in a one-room school, being an elementary school teacher, being a high school guidance counselor, and teaching adult education.  Those who knew her have described her as a strong, feisty, independent woman of faith, who took a great interest in helping others achieve their life goals.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 7:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Don Singleton officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Old Bell Spur Cemetery in C/O Bonita Turman 658 Clint Lane Meadows of Dan, VA 24120. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Martin family.
