Marguerite Chitwood Cooley, 85, of Hillsville passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Waddell Nursing & Rehab Center, Galax. Mrs. Cooley was born May 4, 1926 to the late Roscoe & Pearl Jennings Chitwood, she was also predeceased by her first husband, Robert Marshall, a sister Elizabeth "Libby" Chitwood Stone. She is survived by her husband Raleigh M. Cooley, of the home, nephew, Mike Stone, grand niece Jennifer Stone, and numerous other family members. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor Ty Harrison officiating. A Eastern Star service will also be held on Monday, by the Hillsville Chaper 71. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM., at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the North End Cemetery, Hillsville. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Hillsville Christian Church, 120 Edgewood Drive, Hillsville, VA 24343, or a charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
