Marcus (Robie "MF") Robinson, Sr., 83 of Woodlawn passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lilly Thomason Robinson; brothers, Howard, Olen, and Rixie Robinson. Mr. Robinson worked at Radford arsenal for 32 years. He was a member of Victory Way Baptist Church in Hillsville, Virginia. Survivors include his wife Maxine Beasley Robinson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Marcus Robinson, Jr. and wife Edna of Woodlawn; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Charles Burger of Hot Springs, VA; two sisters, Zella Lineberry, and Goldie Lundy both of Woodlawn; two sisters-in-laws, Ethelene Robinson of Woodlawn, and Nancy Robinson of Florida; grandson, Benjamin Marcus Burger, of Hot Springs, VA; special friends, James and Mary Jo White, and Jack and Jean Hall. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Victory Way Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Payne, Pastor Mike Wells, and Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating. Burial will follow at Monta Vista Memory Gardens in Galax, VA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Victory Way Baptist Church, Hillsville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Victory Way Baptist Church 500 South Main Street, Hillsville, VA 24343, or to the Hillsville Pentecostal Holiness Church 203 North Main Street, Hillsville VA 24343.
