Marcia (Marcie) Jean Ayers, 73 of Cana, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Ayers was born in Virginia to the late Carnie and Cassie Ayers Hiatt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brother, Albert (Benny) Hiatt, Clifford Hiatt, Lonnie Hiatt and Wendell Hiatt; and sisters, Eva Joy Robertson and Ruby Mae Hunter.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby E. Ayers of the home; son, Rodney Ayers and wife, Esther of Cana; siblings, Roy Lee Hiatt, Dorothy Wall, and Nina Newman; grandchildren, Lori Ayers Keith and husband, Zachary, Summer Ayers Nolen and husband, Bradley, and Blaine Ayers; and great-grandchildren, Bryson, Colton, Kristen, and Madison.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Bear Trail Baptist Church in Cana with Rev. Tim Crotts officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Trail Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
