Mabel Irene Young, 89 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at her home.  Mrs. Young was born in Carroll County to the late Leonard and Anna Ogle Myers.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Young; grandson, Dillon Michael Young; and siblings, Howard, Tony, and Linda Carolyn.

Survivors include her children, Jimmy Young, Patty Moles, and Tony Young (Angela); siblings, Gilbert Myers, Leroy Myers, Jerrell Myers, Juanita Pack, Maledia Boyd, Peggy Alexander, and Wanda Joseph; grandchildren, Kenneth, Patrick, Kevin, Jessica, Keisha, Matthew, and Mark; special great-granddaughter, Amber; fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Mr. Gilbert Myers officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel to help with the family with funeral expenses.
