Mabel Turner passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Turner; parents, John and Eva Shockley Surratt; siblings, Lillian Surratt Semones, Harley Surratt, Marie Surratt Smith, Leota Surratt Semones, and Avery Surratt. Survivors include a brother, Cleophus Surratt of Hillsville; nieces and spouses, Eulah Mae McKeown and Lee, Patricia Golding and Roger, Cleo Williams and Jeff, Wilma Alford, Barbara Goad and Gene, Faye Wright, Elsie Swink, and Mary Miller. Several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. A Graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 4:00 PM at North End Cemetery with Pastor Scott Flippin officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors after the graveside service on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Turner residence at 224 Morning View Heights, Hillsville, Virginia 24343. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Turner family.
