Lydia Ellen Phillips, 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Rocky Mount Health and Rehab.  Mrs. Phillips was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Lee and Ruth Reynolds Franklin.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Ray Phillips.

Survivors include her children, Chip Phillips (Martha), Frankie Phillips (Angie), and Bradley Phillips (Sheila); grandchildren, Jennifer Long (Jordan), Ashley Guynn (David), Sydney Butterworth (Jason), Ryan Phillips, Brogan Philips, and Landon Phillips; great-grandchildren, Aiden Guynn, Emorie Butterworth, Declan Butterworth, and Harper Long; brother, Layman "Jack" Franklin (Peg); sister-in-law, Lucy Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to caregivers, Derenda, Karen, Judy, Katrina, and Elaine.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Lindsey-Old Bethesda Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brent Carrick officiating.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
