Lydia Estelle Dickenson, 90 of Dugspur, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Galax Nursing and Rehab Center.  Mrs. Dickenson was born in Carroll County to the late Wiley and Nellie Estelle Largen Goad.  In addition to her biological parents, she was also preceded in death by her foster parents, Luther and Lydia Emma Turman Goad; husband, George Raymond Dickenson; son, John Garnet Goad; daughter-in-law, Darlene Gardner Goad; and several siblings.

Survivors include several cousins and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joseph P. Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in the Goad Turman Cemetery in Dugspur.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 29th from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
