Luther Jerald Stanley, 66, of Laurel Fork, VA passed away on Friday December 25, 2009 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents Wise & Hallie Stanley. Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife Geneva B. Stanley of the home; daughter & son-in-law Rhonda P. & James Smythers of Willis; son & daughter-in-law Travis B. & Trish Stanley of Laurel Fork; brother & sister-in-law Joe & Sue Stanley of Floyd; sisters & brothers-in-laws Linda & Lucky Goad of Laurel Fork and Sandra & Gary Bartley of Lewisville, NC; five grandchildren Matthew Smythers, Allison Smythers, Tate Rector, Austin Rector, and Blake Stanley. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Montgomery and Bill Banks officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2009 at the funeral home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
