Lura Belva Mabe, 96 of Hillsville, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Mabe was born in Virginia to the late Simon Ezra and Eva Goad Martin. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Glenn Mabe.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Elden and Peggy Mabe of Hillsville; daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Rick Hazelwood of Selma, NC; sisters and brother-in-law, Hazel and Glen Donald Largen of Dugspur and Maggie Slate of North Carolina; grandchildren, Billy Mabe, Betsy Orr, and Christina Carrino; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service with burial following will be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at the C.C. Webb Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel on Sunday from 11:30 until 12:30. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
