Louisa Lois Newman Semones, 85 of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart. Mrs. Semones was born in Carroll County to the late Charlie E. and Lila Bolt Newman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Gentry Semones and sister, Oleta Belle Davis. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Neil and Rita W. Semones of Conover, NC, Dennis and Betty B. Semones of Christiansburg, VA and D. Larry Semones of Goodview, VA; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Semones Lewis and Kenneth of Laurel Fork, VA and Sandra S. Lewis and John D. Lewis of Meadows of Dan, VA; brother and sister-in-law, James G. and Brenda Newman of Jamestown, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Vivian M. Phillips and Jordan of Branson, MO and Rita L. Martin of Martinsville, VA; grandchildren, Joe Wayne Semones, Sheri S. Jones, Michael G. Semones, Mitchell A. Semones, Brandon Semones, Kim S. Swanson, Marshall D. Lewis and Justin W. Lewis; and twenty great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:30 PM with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkinson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 until 2:30 PM prior to the funeral service.
