Louie Lawson Burnette, 94, of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at her residence. Mrs. Burnette was born in Carroll County on June 4, 1914 to the late Robert and Catherine Jennings Lawson. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert R. Burnette; an infant son; daughter-in-law Wilma Lee Burnette; and two grandsons Randy Quesenberry and Craig Allen Quesenberry. Mrs. Burnette is survived by her son James E. Burnette; daughters & sons-in-law Kathleen & Jalene Quesenberry and Ilene & B.L. Lineberry all of Woodlawn; brother Gilbert Lawson of Austinville, VA; sisters Beatrice Spivey of Radford, VA and Eskie Ayers of Winston Salem, NC; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Elder Melvin McGrady and Elder Leonard Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Joe Bryant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday night at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt.
