Lorena Mullins Childs, 92, of Hillsville passed away on May 27, 2006 at Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax. Mrs. Childs was preceded in death by her husband, S. Lawrence Childs, Sr. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. S. Lawrence, Jr. and Doris Childs, of Hillsville, and Dr. Paul E. and Peggy Childs, of Orangeburg, SC; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Gloria Mullins, of Georgia; two sisters, Aurelia Hall and Clyda Nixon, both of Moreland, GA; seven grandchildren Wanda Childs Ellis, Gregory E. Childs, Gene Childs, Dianne Conlon, Laura Thompson, Theresa Griffin and Larry Childs; and ten great grandchildren Tamer Nathaniel Ellis, Zachary Lawrence Ellis, Jonathan Nicholas Childs, Lawrence Paul Childs, Christian Luke Childs, Lindsey Griffin, Cheynne Griffin, Sean Conlon, Taylor Thompson, and David Benjamin Ellis.

Services will be on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at 11:00AM at the Hillsville First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wanda Childs and the Rev. Steve Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Branscome Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM on Monday, May 29, 2006 at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel.
