Lonnie W. Wood, 84, of Hillsville passed away on June 21, 2008 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Wesley Wood. Mr. Wood is survived by his wife Betty Sue Wood of the home; sister Dale Yeats of Meadows of Dan; daughter-in-law and spouse Suzanne & Robert White of Harrisburg, NC; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nephews.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel, with Rev. George Conn and Rev. Clarence Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the New Belspur Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
