Lonnie Grey Horton, 76, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Horton was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late Leonard Moyier and Vesta Webb Horton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Magdalene Horton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alta and Coy Davis and Lois and E.G. Branscome; and brother, Dewel Horton. Survivors include his stepson; Edward Harrell of North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Charles Sumner of Fancy Gap, Eva Sue and Bennie Nester of Galax, and Dana and Elden Marshall of Hillsville; brother and sister-in-law, Elwood and Mary Joyce Horton of Hillsville; sister-in-law, JoAnn Horton; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 2:00 PM with Rev. Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Skyview Church Building Fund 129 Skyview Drive, Fancy Gap, VA 24328. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
