Loman Samuel Staples, 91 of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010 at his home. Mr. Staples was born in Carroll County to the late Ermine & Gertie Shumate Staples. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son Anthony Lee Staples. He is survived by his wife Frieda M. Staples of the home; sons & daughters-in-law Robert S. Staples of Hillsville, Eldon Lane & Linda Staples of Highfalls, GA, Joseph David & Donella Staples of Hillsville, and Charles Chris & Debbie Staples of Highfalls, GA; sister Inez S. Edwards of Hillsville; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
