Lois Bowman Hughes, 71, of Bamberg, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband James Wenzell Hughes of Bamberg, SC; daughter & son-in-law Deborah & Lonnie Yarbrough of King, NC; son & daughter-in-law Tony & Becky Hall of Tobaccoville, NC; mother Alene Bowman of King, NC; sister Linda Sue Pulliam of Ridgeway, VA; step-daughter Juliana Hughes of Atlanta, GA; step-sons Kenny Hughes of Bamberg, SC and Clark Hughes of Tybee Island, GA; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Gladesboro Lutheran Church on Gladesboro Road in Hillsville, Virginia at 2:00 PM with Pastor Duane Steele officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday at the church prior to the funeral service.
