Rev Logan Tilden Wells Richter passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter in Flat Rock, NC, on Wed, June 28, 2023, after an extended illness.

Rick was born in Connellsville, PA, on Feb 18, 1934.  He attended Connellsville Public Elementary School and Dunbar Township High School.  In June 1953, at the age of 19, he joined the Army and served for three years, being honorably discharged in June 1956.

Heeding the call of God on his life, in the fall of 1956, Rick enrolled in Toccoa Falls College, GA, in Pastoral Studies.  There he met Alice Strock who was already a student there.  They were married in the summer of 1957.  They returned to school and both graduated, Alice in 1958, and Rick in 1960.

Unable to find a church opening in the Christian & Missionary Alliance, Rick accepted a teaching position for the school year of 1960-1961 at Woodlawn High School, Woodlawn, VA.  In addition to teaching Economics and Math he coached the basketball and baseball teams.  In the spring of 1961 Rick accepted a call to a C&MA church in Hazelhurst, GA.  He served faithfully with the C&MA for the next 42 years in churches of Florida, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina & Pennsylvania, retiring in 2003.

Rick & Alice shared 65 years together.  In addition to his wife, Rick leaves behind his daughter, Cyndi Glass and her husband, Rev Ron Glass, of Hendersonville, NC, and his son, Rev Timothy Richter and his wife, Stephanie, of Fort Myers, FL.  He is also survived by his sister, Florence Ellenberger, in Sterling Heights, MI.

The memory of "Pappy" will be cherished by his eight grandchildren:
Jonathan Glass, Jennifer Mitman, Joanna Holden, Jillian Glass, Joy Glass, Justice Richter, Luke Richter, and Haven Richter.  His love will remain with his eight great-grandchildren:  Adelle, Logan and Serenity Glass;  Grayson and Brady Mitman;  Trudy, Kahlan and Aunders Holden.  Three great-grandchildren are waiting in Heaven to meet him:  Amy Glass, Colton & Craig Holden.

The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel in Hillsville, Virginia on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 12:00 until 2:00 PM.  A celebration of life service will follow at the funeral home from 2:00 until 4:00 PM.
