Linda Lou Liddle Lubetkin, 80 of Ashburn, VA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Maple Grove Rehabilitation Center, Ashburn, VA. Linda was born in the Hardscuffle Community of Carroll County, Virginia to the late William (Bill) and Opal McGrady Liddle. She was the granddaughter of John Walter and Mattie Lou Dickerson McGrady of Hillsville, VA and Ed Marshall and Sarah Stoneman Liddle of Galax, VA.
In addition to her parents, grandparents and her brother-in-law, Martin E. Maples, Linda was preceded in death, by just a few weeks, by her beloved husband of 45 years, M. John Lubetkin of Ashburn, Va,

Survivors include her son, Will A. Lubetkin, Arlington, VA; her sister, Sarah A. Liddle, Waynesboro, Va; paternal aunt, Ann Liddle Jennings, Galax, VA; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lubetkin Lipton (Barry), New York City, NY; and brother-in-law, Jim Lubetkin and his wife Marika O'Doherty of Amagansett, New York. To carry on the memory are several nephews, numerous cousins, including a very close cousin, Phyllis McGrady, Anna Maria, FL., many friends, especially Dr. Paul Luisada, Alexandria, VA, the new friends made over the last four years at the Ashby Ponds Senior Living Community, and most note worthy are the infamous Dare Devils (DDs). The DDs, a collection of women who formed the 'club' in middle school, and continued their love and care for one another as they entered their eighth decade together.

Linda dedicated her professional career to teaching high school students in the Fairfax County, Virginia public school system. She retired, with a Master's in Education, after spending decades as an English teacher at Herndon and McLean High Schools, with the last six years of her tenure in the position of Assistant Principal at Madison High School.

In addition to her students, her passions included her gardens filled with her Mama's favorite flowers guarded by a litany of vigilant stone rabbits, Mai Tai's from the Chinese Gourmet Restaurant, and an unwavering dedication, by both John and Linda, to the Washington Redskins/Commanders. Last, but not the least of her focus, was her dogged determination to care for her little boy and baby sister.

A memorial celebration for Linda and John will be held on Sunday, May 21,2023 from 1:00-4:00pm at Clyde's Willow Creek Farm in the Audubon Bar West event space, 42920 Broadlands Blvd, Broadlands, VA.

An inurnment for Linda and John will take place at a later date at the Gardner Memorial Cemetery, Hillsville, VA. Friends and family will be notified of the date and time.

The family sincerely thank their Cypress Ridge 5th floor neighbors, the caring staff of Maple Grove, of Bright Star home health, of Capital Cares Hospice and the compassion shown by Dr. Joel Gonzalez of Ashby Ponds.
