Lillian Arline Stoneman, 91, of Hillsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. She was born December 1, 1922 to the late VIG and Lillian Johnson Hampton. Lillian was a graduate of the Galax High School Class of 1940 where she was a standout basketball player and school sports writer. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stoneman was also preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Reavis of Reavistown and Guy Stoneman of Fancy Gap; sons, Joseph Michael Reavis of Baywood and Ted Reavis of Fancy Gap; and grandsons, David Park Reavis, Steve Reavis, Bryce Reavis, and Christopher Reavis. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jay Montgomery of Fancy Gap; son, Charles Reavis of Leesburg; daughter-in-law, Sue Reavis of Fancy Gap; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and Dr. Henry Stephenson of Greenville, NC and Helen Liles of Seminole, FL; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Sky View Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the memorial service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
