Lila Mae Bond Barr, 79, of Hillsville, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, NC. Mrs. Barr was born in Carroll County to the late James R.W. and Della Guynn Bond. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Reaves Barr. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Janet and Lonnie Quesenberry of Floyd, Billy and Patsy Barr of Fancy Gap, Joan and Lester Vass of Hillsville, Julia and Terry Cole of Hillsville, and Ellen Holcomb of Hillsville; siblings, Lewis "Bill" Bond of Fieldale, Freida Guynn of Mount Airy, Nellie Haynes of Fancy Gap, Bert Bond of Laurel Fork, Hassell "Hack" Bond of Fancy Gap, and Birda Poff of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Wells, Rev. Danny Beasley, and Pastor Wendell Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the Barr family.
