Levi Simmons Smith, 86 of Dugspur, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the University of Virginia. Mr. Smith was born in Carroll County to the late Fredrick Lee and Essie Marshall Smith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Reba Smith and a son, Freddie Smith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Randy Turman of Dugspur; son, Mike Smith and fiancée, Sandra Vaught of Dugspur; foster son and spouse, Donnie and Paula McPeak of Hillsville; sister, Ruth Nelson of Lorton, VA; grandchildren, Shawn Turman, Levi G. Smith, and Michelle Nunn; and great grandchildren, Dillon Turman, Bray Turman, Laila Smith, Kayla Gallimore, Johanah Gallimore, Joclyn Gallimore, and Alyssa Nunn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 3:00 PM with Rev. David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
