Lester Joseph Sharp, 78 of Woodlawn, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Sharp was born in Carroll County to the late Elmer D. & Missouri Burnette Sharp. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Gertrude Coulson and Ila Mabe; and brothers Wiley Sharp and Boyd N. Sharp. He is survived by his wife Lois Phillips Sharp of the home; daughter Josephine Arenta Sharp of Galax; brother & sister-in-law Wade & Rhea Sharp of Woodlawn; sisters & brothers-in-law Marie Lawson-Kirby & Richard Kirby of Woodlawn, Almeda Bedsaul of Dublin and Lura Belle & Bill Foreman of Roanoke; grandchildren Susan Caroline Jones and Scottie Wayne Martin; great grandson Tanner James Jones; brother-in-law Homer Coulson of Hillsville; sister-in-law Belva Sharp of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman, Pastor Russell Payne, and Rev. Junior Bullion officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
